Newton, Charles Thomas, Sir
1816 - Born on the 16th of September in Bredwardine, Herefordshire.
1840 - He entered the British Museum as an assistant in the Antiquities Department.
1852 - He left the Museum to become Vice-Consul at Mitylene.
1855 - He declined the regius professorship of Greek at Oxford.
1860 - He was made British consul at Rome.
1880 - He was Yates professor of classical archaeology at University College, London.
1894 - He died on the 28th of November.
