Newton, Alfred
1829 - Born on the 11th of June in Geneva, Switzerland.
1854 - He was elected travelling fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge.
1858 - He was one of the founders of the British Ornithologists' Union.
1862 - He wrote many books, including Zoology of Ancient Europe.
1865 - He contributed many memoirs to scientific societies.
1866 - He became the first Professor of Zoology.
1872 - He was the first person to describe Newton's Parakeet.
1907 - He died on the 7th of June.
