Neves, Tancredo de Almeida
1910 - Born on the 4th of March in Sao Joao del Rei, Minas Gerais.
1934 - He began his political career as a member of the Legislative Chamber of his hometown.
1953 - He was appointed by President Getulio Dornelles Vargas to be the Minister of Justice.
1954 - He served in that post until Vargas committed suicide.
1964 - He became an opponent to the military regime in the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB).
1978 - He was elected and governor of Minas Gerais.
1984 - He was one of the leaders of the Diretas Ja movement.
1985 - He died on the 21st of April in Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo.
