1811 – Born on the 28th of March in Prachatitz, Bohemia.

1831 – He attended school in Budweis before entering the seminary.

1835 – He decided that there would be no more ordinations.

1836 – He moved to New York with very little money.

1842 – He took his vows in Baltimore, Maryland.

       – He became the first Redemptorist of the New World.

1848 – He was naturalized as an American in Baltimore.

1852 – He was consecrated in Baltimore, as Bishop of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1860 – He died on the 5th of January in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
