Nelson, Gaylord Anton
1916 - Born on the 4th of June in Clear Lake, Wisconsin.
1939 - He received a Bachelor of Arts from San Jose State College in California.
1942 - He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
1947 - He married Carrie Lee Dotson.
1948 - He was elected to the Wisconsin State Senate.
1962 - He was elected to the U.S Senate.
1963 - He traveled on the Conservation Tour with President John F. Kennedy.
1973 - He was one of the three senators to oppose the nomination of Gerald Ford to be a Vice President.
1981 - He became the counselor for The Wilderness Society.
1995 - He received the residential Medal of Freedom.
2005 - He died on the 3rd of July due to Cardiovascular Failure.
