1918 – Born on the 7th of  January  in Oneglia, Italy.

1945 – He returned to Italy and joined the PCI (Italian Communist Party) in Imperia.

1969 – He drew up the report proposing the expulsion from the party of the Manifesto Group.

1984 – He was elected as Secretary of Italian Communist Party.

1986 – He was confirmed as leader during the Florence Congress.

1988 – He was forced to resign by a heart attack.

2001 – He died on the 23rd of May.
