Narayanan, Rasipuram Krishnaswami (R. K. Narayanan)
1906 - Born on the 10th of October in Chennai, India.
1935 - He started working for his first Novel.
1956 - He went abroad to the United States at the invitation of the Rockeffeler Foundation.
- He began his literary career with short stories.
1958 - He won the National Prize of the Sahitya Akademi.
1964 - He was honored with the Padma Bhushan a coveted Indian award, for distinguished service
to literature.
1980 - He was awarded the AC Benson Medal by the Royal Society of Literature.
1982 - He was elected an honorary member of the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters.
2000 - He was awarded by Padma Vibhushan.
2001 - He died on the 13th of May, Due to Cardio-Respiratory Failure.
