1818 - William Moon, born on the 18th of December in  Hosmonden, Kent, England. He was an Englishman who created Moon type.

1840 - He became totally blind and began to teach blind children.

1843 - He first formulated ideas for using embossed letters.

1845 - He invented a system based on Roman capitals (Moon type), and later a stereotype plate for use with his type.

1858 - A Bible transliteration was completed, taking five thousand pages in an unwieldy sixty volumes.

1894 - Died on the 9th of October in Brighton, England.
