1787 - Born at Alresford, Hampshire on the 16th of  December.

1836 - She met Elizabeth Barrett Browning and their acquaintance ripened into a warm friendship.

1837 - She received a civil list pension, and five years later her father died.

1810 - Her first publications were poems in the manner of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Walter Scott.

1823 - Her play Julian was produced at Covent Garden, with William Charles Macready in the title role.

1824 - The first series of Our Village sketches.

1852 - Her Recollections of a Literary Life is a series of causeries about her favorite books.

1855 - Died on the 10th of January.
