1922 - Born on March 28th in Collingwood, Ohio. Joey Maxim was a handsome and popular boxing champion in the Golden Age of boxing in the 1950s.

1950 - Married to Michelina Berardinelli.

         - He was the World Light Heavyweight boxing champion.

         - Maxim knocked out heavily favored Englishman Freddie Mills in London to win the world light heavyweight title.

1952 - In one of the most memorable boxing matches in history, Maxim defended his title against Sugar Ray Robinson on June 25th, at Yankee Stadium.

1988 - Inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame.

1994 - Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

2001 - Died of complications following a stroke on June 2nd in West Palm Beach, Folrida.
