1903 - Born on the 23rd of June in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

1930 - He completed his education at the University of Toronto.

1935 - He became member of the Liberal Party of Canada.

        - He was elected to the House of Commons.

1945 - He became member of the Canadian Cabinet.

1946 - He became Minister of National Health and Welfare.

         - He served as a Secretary of States for External Affairs.

1948 - He ran for the Liberal leadership but he was defeated.

1968 - He was appointed to the Canadian Senate.

1969 - He served as Leader of the Government in the Senate.

1972 - He also served as Chancellor of Wilfred Laurier University.

1974 - He was appointed High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

1992 - He died on the 14th of September.
