1914 – Stanley Lupino’s daughter Ida, from one of England’s most celebrated theatrical families, was born on February 4th in London, England.

1932 – She made her British motion-picture debut in Her First Affair.

1934 – She moved to the United States and first appeared there on film.

1940-1941 – She acted in such films as They Drive by Night, The Sea Wolf, and High Sierra.

1942 – She was voted Best Actress by the New York film critics for her role in The Hard Way.

         – Subsequently turning to independent production, she directed several motion pictures in which she also often acted. Ida Lupino also wrote for, directed, and acted in television.

1995 – She died of natural cause on August 3rd in Los Angeles, California.
