1915 - Born on March 28th in McDonald, Pennsylvania. American songwriter.

1946-1956 - He (along with his partner Ray Evans) composed many songs for movies such as To Each His Own, Tammy and the Bachelor and Academy Award winning songs "Mona Lisa" from the movie Captain Carey, U.S.A., "Buttons and Bows" from the movie The Paleface and "Que Sera Sera" from the movie The Man Who Knew Too Much.

         - Married to Lynne Gordon.

1958 - Was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award, music and lyrics in collaboration with Ray Evans, as part of Best Musical nomination for "Oh, Captain!".

1959-1961 - Livingston and Evans also collaborated on several popular TV themes such as "Bonanza" and "Mister Ed".

1977 - Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

1992 - Married to Shirley Mitchell.

2001 - Died on October 17th in Los Angeles, California.
