1918 - Audra Marie Lindley, born on the 24th of September in Los Angeles, California. She was an American actress most famous for her role as landlady Helen Roper on the popular sitcom Three's Company and its spin-off, The Ropers.

1943 - 1960 - Married to Dr. Hardy Uhm and had five children.

1972 - 1979 - Married to James Whitmore from whom she was separated, and their children and grandchildren.

1977 - Her greatest fame arrived when she began playing the wisecracking, perpetually unfulfilled and sexually frustrated Helen Roper on the hit sitcom Three's Company.

1979 - The character and her husband Mr. Roper (played by Norman Fell) were so popular that they were spun off to their own show, The Ropers .

1985 - One of her last notable roles was a character part in the lesbian-themed film Desert Hearts.

1997 - Unexpectedly succumbed to leukemia on the 16th of October, at the age of 79, a Cybill script by her hospital bedside.
