1947 - Born on June 29th in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Englewood, New Jersey.

1969 - He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in marketing and communications.

1971 - He finally got the nerve to perform his own jokes at New York's Improvisation and Pips.

1974 - After appearing on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show he continued to tour and hone his act with help from David Brenner and Robert Klein.

1988 - His work on cable "I'm in Pain" for Showtime, "I'm Exhausted" earned a nomiation from American Comedy Awards for Funniest Male Performer in a Television Special (for HBO).

1989 - Appeared in the television series as Marty Gold in "Anything But Love".

         - He performed to an SRO crowd at Carnegie Hall.

1992- 1995 - He starred in the movies "Leaving Las Vegas", "Drunks", Wagons East", "The Last Party", " Robin Hood: Men in Tights" and in "Once Upon a Crime..".

1996 - His "Magical Misery Tour" was filmed at NY's Bottom Line in December.

1997 - He starred in the television series as Neil Diller in "Hiller and Diller".

1998 - He starred in the television series as Harve Schwartz in "Rude Awakening".

         - He was one of the cast in the movie "Game Day".

2005 - Married his wife Joyce Lapinsky.

         - He starred in the films "Cinderella Man" and "The Aristocrats".
