Lewis, Morgan
1818 – He was born on the 21st day of November on this year, at Aurora, Cayuga County, New York, USA.
1840 – He studied law on this year at Union College and began practicing in his hometown of Aurora, New York as well as Rochester.
1851 – He was able to study the culture of the Iroquois with the help of his friend Ely Parker from the Tonawanda Creek Reservation. He produced the book, The League of the Ho-de-no-sau-nee or Iroquois.
1871 - He began publishing books such as his seminal Systems of Consanguinity in this year.
1879 - He served in the New York State Assembly and Senate on this year and was elected president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and was a member of the National Academy of Sciences
1881 – Before his death, he was able to publish another book this year, which is entitled Houses and House-lives of the American Aborigines. He died on the 17th day of December on this year, at Rochester, New York, U.S.A.
