1940 - Lamorisse began making short films.

1950 - He is also known for creating the popular strategy board game Risk.

1952 - Directed movies "Crin Blanc".

1955 - "Le Ballon Rouge".

1956 - He was a French filmmaker best known for The Red Balloon, a short which earned him the grand prize at the Cannes film festival and an Oscar.

1970 - Died on the 2nd of June in a helicopter crash while filming The Lovers' Wind, a helicopter-tour of Iran.

1978 - The film was edited from his production notes.
