1978 - He graduate in Johnson & Wales University's College of Culinary Arts.

1990 - He later received an honorary doctorate.

1990 - He opened his first restaurant, Emeril's, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

1993 - Emeril has written several best-selling cookbooks, from Emeril's New New Orleans Cooking, his first book which was published.

2001 - He briefly starred in a self-titled TV sitcom on NBC during the fall season with Robert Urich, but it was canceled after a few episodes and widely panned by critics.

2004-2005 - Emeril also appeared on Shop at Home Network, on the show From Emeril's Kitchen.
