1790 - Born in Pennsylania.

         - He studied medicine in the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia and commenced practice in York.

1818-1826 - He served as clerk of the courts of York County, Pennsylvania.

1835 - He edited and published the York Gazette.

         - King was elected to the Twentieth Congress and reelected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first and Twenty-second Congresses.

1832 - He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Twenty-third Congress.

1835 - He resumed the practice of medicine and died in York on the 6th of May..
