1932 - Gordon Jump, born on the 1st of April in Centerville, Ohio, USA. He was an American actor.

1957 - Graduated with a degree in journalism from Kansas State University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

1977 - 1978 - The incompetent "Piece of Chalief Tinkler" in the sitcom Soap.

1978 - He also guest-starred in a number of series, such as the Incredible Hulk.

1989 - Known for his role as the "Maytag Repairman" in commercials for Maytag brand appliances.

1990 - Concurrent with his new role as the Maytag Repairman, he starred in a short-lived revival of WKRP entitled The New WKRP in Cincinnati.

1991 - 1993 - He is also well-known as the clueless radio station manager Arthur "Big Guy" Carlson in the TV series WKRP in Cincinnati.

2003 - He died on the 22nd of September, from Pulmonary fibrosis, leading to respiratory failure at the age of 71 at his home near Los Angeles, California.
