1919 - Born on June 19th in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France .

1939 - Louis Jourdan made his film debut, in Le Corsaire with Charles Boyer.

1940 - After his native France fell to Germany, Jourdan worked in films to support himself, and he was also a low-level operative with the French Resistance.

1945 - He had his first starring role shortly after the liberation, La Vie de Bohème.

1946 - Married to Berthe Frederique on March 11th.

1947 - His first American film was Alfred Hitchcock's The Paradine Case with Gregory Peck.

1953 - He appeared in international productions.

1958 - He appeared in Gigi, his best-known film by American audiences.
