         – Worked with the Philadelphia Opportunities Industrialization Center

         – Former chairwoman of the Philadelphia Welfare Rights Organization before her election to the Senate.

1998 – The North Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce established the Roxy Awards to honor Senator Jone’s pioneering spirit.
