1965 - Jason William Mizell, born on the 21st of January in Hollis, New York. He was also known as Jam-Master Jay (or Jam Master Jay), was a founder and the DJ of Run-D.M.C., a hip-hop group based in the Queens borough of New York City.

1989 - He established the label Jam Master Jay Records.

1990 - He suffered the effects of a bad car accident and a gunshot wound, which he survived.

1993 - Scored a strong success with the band Onyx.

2002 - On the 30th of October, however, he was shot and killed in a Merrick Boulevard recording studio in Queens, New York.
