1907 - Born as Giovanna Elisabetta Antonia Romana Maria di Savoy on November 13th in Rome.
1930 - She married Bulgaria's king, Boris Cobourg- Gotha III, on October 4th.
1937 - Gave birth to the future SImeon II of Bulgaria.
1943 - After Boris's death, Ioanna's eldest son, Simeon, acceded to the throne at the age of six.
1946 - He reigned under regencies until the monarchy was abolished in a referendum called by the Communists installed by the Soviet Army. The royal family was then forced into exile.
2000 - Died on February 26th at the age of 92, "after a brief illness" in Estoril, Portugal, where she lived alone.
2001 - Her son became Premier Minister of Bulgaria in under the name of Saxe-Coburg.
