H. Richard Hornberger is a US author and military surgeon.
1924 - Born 1st of February in Trenton, New Jersey.
1950 - Served as a doctor in the 8055th M*A*S*H (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) during the Korean War.
1968 - Published the novel, M*A*S*H: A Novel About Three Army Doctors, under the pseudonym Richard
Hooker. The book is based on his own experience as a doctor in a M*A*S*H unit during the Korean War. The
character of Hawkeye Pierce is based on himself.
1972 - Published the sequel of M*A*S*H Goes to Maine.
1977 - Publishes a third M*A*S*H novel, M*A*S*H Mania.
1988 - Retired from his longtime surgical practice in Waterville, Maine.
1997 - Hornberger died 4th of November.
