1930 – Hilton moved to Hollywood, where he wrote or cowrote screen scenarios.
1934 – His novella Goodbye, Mr. Chips was published in the British Weekly in 1934 and became enormously popular after it was reprinted in the Atlantic Monthly that same year.
1933 – Hilton’s novels Knight Without Armor and Lost Horizon, which had been published, were quickly reissued and also attracted wide readerships.
1953 – The last of Hilton’s 14 novels, Time and Time Again, was published.
1954 – Died on the 20th of December in Long Beach, California.
