1924 - Born on January 21st in Southampton, Hampshire, England.

1949 - His talent for impressions and comic timing that were to give him his first big break on TV with the show "Hi There".

1955 - His "The Benny Hill Show" began airing.

1956-1969 - He appeared in the films "The Italian Job", "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" and "Who Done It?".

1971 - He also had a hit record with "Ernie The Fastest Milkman In The West".

1992 - Died on April 19th in Teddington, London, England due to heart failure. His remains were buried in Hollybrook Cemetery, Shirley, Southampton, England.

2002 - His memoir "Funny Peculiar, the True Story of Benny Hill" was published by Mark Lewisohn.
