1884 - Born on January 31st in Brackenheim, near Heilbronn. Liberal democratic legislator, first president of West Germany, author, and leader of the Free Democratic Party.

1905 - After receiving a political science degree from the University of Munich, Heuss was an editor on several newspapers.

1908 - Married to Elly Heuss-Knapp.

1948 - Was a Member of Parliament.

1949-1959 - Elected as the first president of West Germany.

1963 - Died on December 12th in Stuttgart, West Germany.
