1366 - Born on April 3rd in Bolingbroke Castle, Lincolnshire, England.  He was the son of John of Gaunt, the third son of King Edward III of England. His mother was Blanche of Lancaster.

1380 - Married to Mary de Bohun.

1397 - He supported Richard II against the Duke of Gloucester, and was created Duke of Hereford, but was banished the following year.

1398 - Sent into exile by Richard II, one of the Lords Appellant, and Richard's cousin.

1399 - He was proclaimed the King of England on September 30th.

         - The coronation of King Henry IV took place on October 13th.

1400 - Under Owen Glendower the Welsh maintained their independence, and Henry's attack on Scotland ended in his defeat.

1403 - Married to Joanna of Navarre.

         - Henry Percy (Hotspur) and his house then joined with the Scots and the Welsh against him, but they were defeated at Shrewsbury.

1413 - Died on March 20th in London, England. He was buried at Canterbury Cathedral.
