Hasdrubal, the second son of Hamilcar Barca, was a Carthaginian general in the Second Punic War. He was a younger brother of Hannibal.

229 - He succeeded as commander in Spain. He extended the Carthaginian empire in Spain to the boundary of the R Ebro, using diplomatic negotiations with the Romans rather than military force, and founded Cartagena.

218 - Left in command of Hispania when Hannibal departed to Italy.

217 - He led a joint expedition north to fight the Romans. He commanded the army, while his deputy commanded the fleet.

207 - He was murdered by a Celtic slave, and succeeded by Hannibal.
