1962 - He addressed "Barney Fife" as "Little Buddy" in January guest appearance as "Jeff Pruitt" on "The Farmer Takes a Wife" episode of the "The Andy Griffith Show". He used the same nickname for Gilligan 2 years later.

1964 - Married Naomi Hale.

1964 - 1967 - Starred in television series "Gilligan's Island" This show made him more famous than any other TV show or movie.

       - He made his greatest mark on pop culture with his role as the Skipper on Gilligan's Island.

1942 - 1989 - He was in about 30 movies, and guest starred in hundreds of TV series, mostly drama.

1990 - Died on the 2nd of January.
