1955 - Born on February 8th in Jonesboro. He wrote the novels "A Time to Kill", "The Firm", "The Pelican Brief", "The Client", "The Chamber", "The Rainmaker", "The Runaway Jury", "The Partner", "The Street Lawyer", "The Testament", "The Brethren", "A Painted House", "Skipping Christmas", "The Summons", "King of Torts", "Bleachers", "The Last Juror" and "The Broker".

1973 - He graduated from Southaven High School, Southaven, Mississippi.

1977 - Graduated in Accounting, Mississippi State University.

1981 - A graduate of Mississippi State University and Ole Miss Law School, he finished his law degree and afterward practiced law for about 10 years, specializing in criminal defense and personal injury litigation.

         - Married his wife Renee Jones Grisham on May 8th.

1983-1990 - He was inducted in the Mississippi State House of Representatives    

         - John Grisham recently gave up his law practice to write full-time. He began writing, and three years later finished his first novel, A Time To Kill, published by Wynwood Press in June.
