1967 - Sergei Mikhailovich Grinkov, born on the 4th of February in Moscow, Russia to parents Mikhail Kondrateyevich Grinkov and Anna Filipovna Grinkova. He was an Olympic and World figure skating champion.
1972 - He first took the ice at the age of 5.
1981 - At age fourteen he was paired with ten-year-old Ekaterina Gordeeva at the Central Red Army Club (CSKA) in Moscow.
1985 - The pair won the 85' World Junior Championship in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
1988 - They became repeat world champions the following year and won gold at the 88' Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
1989 - His skating partnership with Katia had blossomed into romance.
1991 - Married in April to his partner, Ekaterina Gordeeva.
1991 - 1994 - They won their first World Professional Championship, and went on to win that title two more times.
1992 - On the 11th of September, Ekaterina gave birth to their daughter, Daria Sergeyevna Grinkova (nicknamed 'Dasha'), born in Morristown, New Jersey.
1994 - He and his wife returned to Olympic competition and captured their second gold medal at the 94' Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Oppland, Norway.
1995 - He collapsed and died on the 20th of November from a massive heart attack in Lake Placid, New York, while he and his wife were practicing for their upcoming performance in the 95'-96' Stars on Ice tour.
