Joseph Dierlain Greem, also known as Pwazon Rat (in Haitian Creole) or Rat Poison (in english) when he was  a M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle driver in the U.S. Army with the 4th Infantry Division, was first a distinguished police officer in the new Haitian police force established in 1994.

He was born on March 20 in Les Cayes, Haiti, and had not spoken properly when he was a child.  He didn't let his handicap define his future.  He was educated at les Soeurs Marguerite d'Hiouville des Cayes, les Freres du Sacre Coeur des Cayes, le Lycee Philippe Guerrier des Cayes, Le College Civic des Cayes and le Lycee Alexandre Petion de Port-au-Prince. His father, Eustache Henri was placed in command of the Volunteers of Public Security, Southern Departmental of Haiti known as "Bogeyman" in English language and in Haitian Creole, VSNL (Volonteres a la Securite Departemental du Sud Public autrement dit: "Tonton Macoute,") by Jean Claude Duvalier , Baby Doc. One of his many half-brothers from his father side, Jean Marie Henry was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Haitian Army disbanded by President Aristide.

In high school, Greem was playing sports. Whether it was: boxing, Tae-Kwon-Do, Dodge Ball, Soccer or Lifting weight, Greem participated. In his birth certificate, both his mother Immacula Grim (not a misspelled with G-R-I-M) and his father Eustache Henry hadn't been mentioned. He was given birth certificate by his Grand Father, Prosper Grim (not again a misspelled G-R-I-M) and Grand mother Anita Castra due to his Father didn't marry his Mother. GREEM is the only child of Immacula Grim (G-R-I-M). He had a difficult childhood, suffering for years of all kinds.

THE STORY BEHING THE LAST GREEM

According to a research, Greem's ancestors headed over Haiti from Germany were spelled GRIMM; somehow the "IMM" along the time had dropped.  He hadn't invented his last name to fit his image, or assumes that it must have one "M" and two E's. In Haiti and in the United State, Greem has uncle and aunt with their last name spelled:("G-R-E-A-M and G-R-I-M"). "GRIMM" is an attractive name that had belonged to a small number of contemporary people from Europe.

FACTS:

1988-1991,  Cameraman and Producer for RTC (Radio Telediffusion Cayenne) of Les Cayes.

In 1992, while visiting a sick friend in General Hospital of Port-au Prince, he found Jesus through an unknown preacher.

In 1995, He became an officer in the new Haitian Police Force.

It was in April 1996 that he joined the first ever Haitian Swat Team.

In February 1997, he successfully recaptured the police station (le Commissariat) of "Cite Soleil" from the Red Army Gangs' control.

In June- July 1997, Greem was the only SWAT unit officer that the CAT unit wanted in the National Palace. However, their request was later denied by The Secretary of State, Robert Manuel. The Secretary of state thought that officer Greem was most valuable for him in fighting street gangs, drug dealers, and intimidating political rivals than in protecting President Preval.

In January 1998, Greem made his mark in a SOGE Bank Hostages situation when a robber took 23 hostages, customers and SOGE Bank's employees. The Haitian medias reported that the lonely robber, 1 in Carrefour-Feuille most notorious and dangerous gangs...wanted 2 millions in U.S. currency and a helicopter. The robber was 3 minutes away to start opening fire on his hostages if his demands were not compelled by the Bank management. He was shot dead by the Swat Team squad commanded by officer Greem and none of the hostages was hurt.

In March 1999, moved into the United States with  $ 25 US currency in search of the American dream. He lived with his aunt Marie Jacqueline Grim (G-R-I-M) in Orlando until he was granted a green card. All these troubles were to avoid being the Haitian government's intimiditating tool in 1997- 1999.

He was trained to become a leader of the first ever SWAT TEAM in Haiti by the DEA, FBI, US BORTAC,  Salvadorians SWAT instructors, Canadians Mounted Police, The International SWAT instructor Robert Roger, Robert Duval, and many more.

In Haiti, he wanted to protect and serve the Haitian peopleas a Police Officer. Unfortunately, manyof the Haitian government officials started receiving brides of drug dealers from Columbia, Dominican Republic, and foreign politicians. The well trained special Police was used as weapon to intimidate rivals.

In September 2001- September 2004, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and assigned to Fort Hood Texas with the 4th Infantry Division "Regular by God".  In January 2002 was reassigned to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with "Charlie Company" 4 ID, in order to help the marines with the security of the base with Afghans and foreign fighters' detainees. In February 2003 by Presidential order, he became a U. S. citizen.  In early April 2003, he was sent to the theater of war in Iraq.

Greem reported that in Tikrit, Saddam Hussein home town, Iraq, "The troops were not on the front lines and the officers in the rear. We were all in danger. There was no front line. It's just about everyone in between or you'll die".  Greem never consider himself as a hero despite saving his own soldier's lives in Iraq from IED ambushes.

"To face danger and not to be fearful isn't a demonstration of bravery. It's stupidity". Author unknown

"To me, it is brave when you have to do something and you get up <em>and do it anyway.  Everyone can get scared at some point. As human I should be and I was scared. But, I didn't let my fear stop me from getting the mission done. My mission as a team leader was to do my job and get everybody back home alive at all cost according to my training's knowledge and my personnel faith in God. This was one of my many untold stories in Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division</em>". Joseph Greem

September 2004 to March 2009, it's the unfortunate struggling years. After 12 months tour of duty in Iraq, Greem returned in the U.S. from battle as one  distinguished men in his unit. He worked hard against the roadside bombings that take so many soldiers' lives. He led 3 men team into the fray of Tikrit at the height of his unit's mission.  After his first-term of enlistement, he'd entered the job market for the first time.

March 2007- August 2007, he attended The Valencia Criminal Justice Institute.  He was hired later as a Deputy Sheriff by The Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

"They fought for their country in Iraq. Now veterans are struggling to find a decent job in the United States". Moustafa Ayad, Pittsburgh post-gazette September 2005.

September 2009, a Non Commission Officer (NCO) of the United States Army Reserve.

Greem favorite lines  from Inuit Legend:  "I, who was born to die, Shall live. That the world of animals and the world of men may come together, I shall  live".
