1554 - Gosson was born in the month of April and was baptized on April 17, 1554.
1572 - Entered Corpus Christi College, Oxford.
1577 - Became an actor and playwright in London.
1579 - Gosson turned against the stage in a pamphlet he wrote, The School of Abuse, attacked to the immoral consequences of poetry and the social evils fostered by theaters. He dedicated the pamphlet without authorization to Sir Philip Sidney.
1581 - Gosson retired to the country, where he became a tutor.
1585 - Became a lecturer of the parish church at Stepney.
