Ginzburg, Natalia
1916 - Born in Sicily on the 14th of July.
1933 - She published her first story, I Bambini in the magazine Solaria.
1938 - She married Leone Ginzburg, and used the name Natalia Ginzburg on most subsequent publications.
1942 - Her first novel, however, was published under the pseudonym Alessandra Tornimparte, during Fascist Italy's most anti-semitic period.
1944 - She and her husband secretly went to Rome and edited an anti-Fascist newspaper, until Leone Ginzburg was arrested and murdered in jail.
1940 - Ginzburg spent much of working for the publisher Einaudi in Turin.
1947 - Her second novel was published.
1950 - She married Gabriele Baldini, a scholar of English literature.
1969 - Her second husband died.
1964 - She played the role Mary of Bethany in Pasolini's The Gospel According to St. Matthew.
1983 - She was elected to the Italian Parliament as an Independent.
1991 - Died on the 7th of October in Rome.
