1884 - Born in Luxembourg City on the 16th of August.

1905 - Gernsback emigrated to the United States and later became a naturalized citizen.

1906 - He married three times: to Rose Harvey.

1911 - Gernsback wrote some fiction, including the novel Ralph.

1912 - Gernsback said that he estimated 400,000 people in the U.S. were involved in amateur radio.

1913 - He founded a similar magazine, Electrical Experimenter.

1921 - Dorothy Kantrowitz.

1925 - Hugo founded radio station WRNY and was involved in the first television broadcasts.

1926 - Founded magazine Amazing Stories.

1967 - Died on the 19th of August in New York City.
