1738 - Born on June 4 in Norfolk House, London.
1760 - Succeeded King George II and ruled as king of of Great Britain and Ireland.
1761 - Married Duchess Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz as her queen.
1763 - October 7, issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763 to organize Britain's vast new North American empire, and to stabilize relations with North American Indians.
1765 - He had been out of health. Doubted to have problems with his sanity.
1789 - King George the III wrote a letter to Pitt thanking him for his warm support of his interests during his illness.
1803 - Declaration of war of England to the French.
1804 - The king's mind was again affected. When he recovered, he found himself in the midst of a ministerial crisis. Public feeling allowed but one opinion to prevail in the country.
1820 - The remaining nine years of George III's life were passed in insanity and blindness, and he died on
the 19th of January.
