1802 – Thomas Gallaudet goes to Yale College at the age of 14.
1805 – Thomas graduates from Yale at the age of 17.
1812 – After meeting a deaf child, Alice Cogswell, he decides to teach deaf children.
1816 – Goes to England to learn some teaching methods that he read about, comes back with another teacher to help him.
1817 – Thomas opens a school for deaf children.
1821 – He marries one of his former pupils, Sophia Fowler.
1830 – Thomas retires from his school.
