1950 - He graduated college at Yale University in Connecticut U.S.A.

1953 - He became active duty in the United States Navy.

1960 - He was the confidential assistant to the Secretary of Commerce (head of the United States Department

            of Commerce concerned with business and industry).

1976 - He was appointed by Donald Rumsfeld the secretary of Defense of United States as a representative in

            Europe and the defense advisor to the U.S. mission to NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation).

1981 - He became the Ambassador to France under President Ronald Reagan (40th President of the United

            States).

1998 - He became chairman of the board of the New York subsidiary of LVMH (A French holding company and
