1878 – Born on the 2nd of January in Prague.

         – After starting with architecture, Frankl studied art history in Munich.

1910 – He earned his Ph.D.

1921 – Became professor for art history in Halle.

1933 – His Jewish origin he was put on leave after the rise to power of Nazism.

1940 – He emigrated to the United States where he worked at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.

         – His most famous works are books on the architecture of Renaissance and Gothic.

1962 – Died on the 22nd of April in Princeton, New Jersey.
