Eyskens, Mark
1933 - Born on April 29th in Löwen, Germany. Belgian politician.
1976 - Minister of state, he occupied important ministerial functions.
1977 - He is professor emeritus in economics at the Catholic university of Leuven and former member of the Belgian Parliament of the Council of Europe.
1981 - Was prime minister of Belgium.
- Resigned at the end of March, because the socialist party could not agree with an urgency plan to reorganize the public finances.
1993 - Member of the Assembly of the WEU.
- He is past president of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for sciences and arts and president of the Francqui Foundation and other scientific and cultural institutions.
- He is member of the board of the International Crisis Group and of the board of several Belgian and foreign companies.
