1909 - Born on April 29th in Owensboro, Kentucky.

1923 - Was a charter member of the Owensboro High School Rose Curtain Players.

1946 - Married to Judith Abbott on March 18th.

1948 - Married to Marjorie Sanborn on May 5th.

1949 - Starred in the movie Adam's Rib.

1953 - Won Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actor (Dramatic) for "The Seven Year Itch," a performance that he recreated in the film of the same name, The Seven Year Itch.

1955 - Performed "The Seven Year Itch" 750 times on Broadway before portraying in the movie version.

1994 - Died on September 12th in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.

2003 - Was inducted in the Owensboro High School Hall of Fame.
