1933 – Born on the 10th of November in St. Francis, Kansas, United States.

1956 – He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas,

               Lawrence, Kansas, U.S.A.

1957 – He completed flight training after receiving his commission as an Ensign through the Navy Reserve

                 Officers’ Training Corps Program at the University of Kansas.

1964 – He received his Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the  United States Naval

                  Postgraduate School.

        – He became a member of the astronaut support crews for the Apollo 7 and Apollo 11.

        – He received the Navy Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing service.

1973 – He was presented with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Distinguished Service Medal.

        – He received the University of Kansas Distinguished Service Citation award.

1976 – He retired from the United States Navy on the 30th April.

1977 – He retired from National Aeronautics and Space Administration to become a coal industry executive.

1990 – He died on the 27th of April.
