1832 - Born in Dijon, Côte-d'Or, France on the 15th of December.
1855 - Eiffel graduated from Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures , the same year that Paris hosted the first world's Fair, with a master’s degree in chemistry.
- Designed framework for Statue of Liberty.
1887 - Eiffel became involved with the French effort to construct a Panama Canal.
1889 - Designer and eponym of Eiffel Tower.
1923 - Died on the 27th of December in his mansion on Rue Rabelais in Paris. He was interred in the Cimetière de Levallois-Perret.
