1964 - Born on the 10th of March in Buckingham Palace, London. He is the fourth and youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.
- He was baptized on the 2nd of May at the private chapel at Windsor Castle by Robert Woods, Dean of Windsor and was given the names Edward Anthony Richard Louis.
1986 - Entered Jesus College, Cambridge, reading history, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.
1987 - He embarked on a career in the armed forces, joining the Royal Marines as a trainee officer, but resigned the rigorous course and failed to complete his training in January, which occasioned much negative criticism from the media, along with suggestions in some quarters that he was gay.
1999 - Edward's engagement to his long term girlfriend, Sophie Rhys-Jones was announced on January.
- Their marriage took place at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on the 19th of June and was created The Earl of Wessex and Viscount Severn..
2002 - Edward stood down from his position as Managing Director of Ardent Productions, to concentrate on his public duties.
2003 - His daughter, Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor was born on the 8th of November.
