1813 – He obtained a secretarial appointment under the war department.

1817 – He was enabled to attend the gymnasium.

1822 – He left as a student of law in the University of Göttingen, Germany.

1830 – He traveled to Italy.

1837 – He wrote his book the "Conversations with Goethe".

1838 – He was given the title of grand-ducal councillor and appointed as a librarian.

1854 – Died on the 3rd of December in Weimar, Germany.
