Earnhardt, [Ralph] Dale Sr.(the Intimidator)
1951 - Born the 29th of April in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
1968 - He married Latane Key.
1970 - He was divorced to Latane Key.
1971 - He married for the second time to Brenda Gee.
1974 - He was divorced to Brenda Gee.
1982 - He won at Darlington Raceway, but he failed to finish 15 races
1983 - He rebounded and won his first of 12 Twin 125 Daytona 500 qualifying races.
- He won at the Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.
1986 - He won his second career in the Winston Cup Championship.
1987 - He earned his nickname "The Intimidator".
1988 - He garnered a second nickname, "The Man in Black", owing to the black paint scheme in which the
no.3 car was painted.
1991 - He won his 5th Winston Cup championship.
1993 - He once again came close to a win at the Daytona 500.
1995 - He started off the season by finishing second in the Daytona 500.
- He won 5 races including his first road course victory at Sears Point.
1996 - He dominated Speedweeks only to finish second in the Daytona 500 for a second time.
1997 - He went winless for only the 2nd time in his career.
1998 - He started Speedweeks by winning his Twin 125-mile qualifier race for the ninth straight year.
1999 - He swept both races for the year at Talladega.
2000 - He had a resurgence, which some attributed to neck surgery he underwent to correct a lingering injury.
2001 - He died on the 18 of February in a last-lap crash during the Daytona 500.
