Harley J. Earl is a US automobile designer and businessman.
1893 – Earl was born 2nd of November.
1926-1940 – Director of styling section of General Motors Corp.
1940-1958 – Vice-president of General Motors Corp.
1927 – Designed the La Salle, a smaller companion car to the Cadillac.
1938 – Created the first concept car – the Buick "Y" job which had concealed headlamps and prefigured.
1950 – His second concept car was the Le Sabre, the gimmick of which was its extreme lowness, by having the carburetor and air cleaner taken off the top of the engine and put alongside the cylinder heads.
Earl was responsible for the design of the modern American car.
