1934 – She was born as Lois Steinmetz this year in Philadelphia. She grew up by the sea in Florida.

 

1944 – She started writing and submitting manuscripts to magazines at a very young age of ten.

 

1948 – She succeeded in selling her first story. She went to the University of New Mexico, where she gained a degree in English. She has written more than 300 articles for magazines in America.

 

1989 – Her youngest daughter Kaitlyn Arquette was murdered in Albuquerque, New Mexico under suspicious circumstances. She wrote “Who Killed My Daughter?” relates the facts and conjecture about the still unsolved case.

 

1997 – She was best known for her novels of suspense for teenagers and some of her works have been adapted for the screen, the most famous example is the slashed flick, “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
